In 2008 McAfee and MXI announced an OEM partnership to provide organizations with McAfee Zero Footprint Bio devices and McAfee Encrypted Hard Disks based on MXI’s MXP USB portable security devices, the first-ever FIPS 140-2 Level 3-validated encrypted USB drives.

The partnership has led to the deployment of hundreds of thousands of McAfee and MXI portable security devices by governments and corporations to secure and protect systems, applications and data wherever their employees travel around the world.

More recently, both companies have announced compatibility of their portable security devices with McAfee® ePO™, a centralized security management console which will allow organizations to include USB portable security devices as part of their security risk management strategies (SRM). It gives IT administrators control to issue, manage and monitor in real-time the use of any portable security device on the network, allowing it to proactively identify, block and ban unauthorized devices that can threaten the security of their organization.
